{"id":206,"date":"2014-04-16T14:08:07","date_gmt":"2014-04-16T14:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tezzatron.com\/loadsofrecipes\/2011\/10\/08\/italian-meatballs\/"},"modified":"2014-04-16T14:08:07","modified_gmt":"2014-04-16T14:08:07","slug":"italian-meatballs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loadsofrecipes.co.uk\/beef-recipes\/italian-meatballs\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian meatballs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are there any other kind of meatballs apart from Italian ? \u00a0The answer is obviously yes but these are still the best, this is a classic Italian recipe.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves<br \/>\n<\/strong>4<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking time<\/strong><br \/>\n4 hours<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br \/>\nMeatballs:<br \/>\n250g beef mince<br \/>\n250g pork mince<br \/>\n1 clove garlic, grated<br \/>\nhandful of parmesan, grated<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\npinch of dried oregano<br \/>\nhandful of semolina or breadrumbs<br \/>\nsalt and pepper<br \/>\nSauce:<br \/>\n1 onion, finely chopped<br \/>\n2 tins chopped tomatoes<br \/>\na dash of balsamic vinegar<br \/>\nsalt and pepper<br \/>\nhandful of fresh basil<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Meatballs:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands &#8211; see Cook&#8217;s tip. Shape into small meatballs &#8211; about walnut size &#8211; put on a plate and chill until needed.<\/p>\n<p>Sauce:<br \/>\nFry the onion gently in olive oil in a pan large enough to take all the meatballs in one layer. Once the onion is soft and slightly caramelised add the tomatoes, season and add the vinegar. Bring to the boil and then simmer with the lid off until the sauce has reduced slightly (about 10-15 minutes).<\/p>\n<p>Drop in the meatballs, bring back to the boil, cover and simmer for 40-50 mins minutes.
