{"id":253,"date":"2011-10-22T10:02:26","date_gmt":"2011-10-22T10:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tezzatron.com\/loadsofrecipes\/2011\/10\/22\/roast-pork-belly-with-5-spice-rub\/"},"modified":"2011-10-22T10:02:26","modified_gmt":"2011-10-22T10:02:26","slug":"roast-pork-belly-with-5-spice-rub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loadsofrecipes.co.uk\/asian-recipes\/roast-pork-belly-with-5-spice-rub\/","title":{"rendered":"Roast Pork Belly with 5-spice rub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"style15\">1.75kg pork belly, bones left in, scored<\/li>\n<li> <\/li>\n<li> spice rub:<\/li>\n<li> 3 cloves garlic<\/li>\n<li> 1 tsp black peppercorns<\/li>\n<li> 1 tbsp sea salt flakes<\/li>\n<li> 2 tsp Chinese 5-spice powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wipe the meat to remove moisture.<br \/>\n Peel garlic, then pound it with peppercorns, salt and 5-spice powder using pestle and mortar.<br \/>\n Lay the pork, skin side down in a china, glass or stainless steel dish, then rub the spice mixture into the flesh. Cover the dish and leave in a cool place for about 4 hours.<br \/>\n Set oven at 220C. Put the pork, skin side up, into a roasting tin. Leave in oven for 30 mins, then turn heat down to 180C and roast for further 50-60 mins. Test for tenderness with knife and check the juices are clear.
