{"id":270,"date":"2011-10-22T11:29:29","date_gmt":"2011-10-22T11:29:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tezzatron.com\/loadsofrecipes\/2011\/10\/22\/kung-po-prawns\/"},"modified":"2011-10-22T11:29:29","modified_gmt":"2011-10-22T11:29:29","slug":"kung-po-prawns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loadsofrecipes.co.uk\/asian-recipes\/kung-po-prawns\/","title":{"rendered":"Kung po prawns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"style15\">24 large raw prawns, shelled<\/li>\n<li> 1 tsp cornflour<\/li>\n<li> Sauce &#8211; 1 tsp Szechuan peppercorns<\/li>\n<li> 3 tbsp rice vinegar<\/li>\n<li> 3 tbsp hoisin sauce<\/li>\n<li> 2 tbsp light soy sauce<\/li>\n<li> 1\/2 tsp crushed dried red chillies<\/li>\n<li> 2 tbsp groundnut oil<\/li>\n<li> 25g raw peanuts, in their skins, roasted, skins rubbed off<\/li>\n<li> 1 small red chilli, sliced<\/li>\n<li> 1 spring onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a really quick and easy meal &#8211; big reward for little effort. <\/p>\n<p> Cut the prawns along the topside and de-vein. Dust the prawns in the cornflour. Leave to stand for 15 mins.<\/p>\n<p>Make the sauce &#8211; put the peppercorns in a small frying pan over a medium heat. Cook, shaking the pan frequently, for 2-3 mins until toasted. Grind coarsley in a pestle and mortar. Stir in the rice vinegar, hoisin and soy and dried chillies.<\/p>\n<p>Heat a wok over a high heat until very hot. Pour in the oil, swirling to coat the sides. Add the prawns and stir fry until they turn pink, about 1- 2 mins. Stir in the sauce and heat through.
