{"id":31,"date":"2011-12-10T23:36:46","date_gmt":"2011-12-10T23:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tezzatron.com\/loadsofrecipes\/2011\/12\/10\/cod-in-tempura-batter\/"},"modified":"2011-12-10T23:36:46","modified_gmt":"2011-12-10T23:36:46","slug":"cod-in-tempura-batter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loadsofrecipes.co.uk\/asian-recipes\/cod-in-tempura-batter\/","title":{"rendered":"Cod in tempura batter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Groundnut oil for deep frying<\/li>\n<li> 1 Egg<\/li>\n<li> 225ml Ice cold water<\/li>\n<li> 100g Plain flour<\/li>\n<li> 1\/2 Tsp bicarbonate of soda<\/li>\n<li> 350g Cod fillet, skinned and thinly sliced<\/li>\n<li> 25g Seasoned plain flour<\/li>\n<li> 4 Tbsp dark soy sauce<\/li>\n<li> 1cm Grated ginger<\/li>\n<li> 1 Spring onion, finely sliced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Half fill a deep pan or a fryer with the oil and preheat to 220 degrees.<\/p>\n<p> Place the egg in a bowl and whisk in the water. Add the flour and bicarbonate of soda and beat quickly and lightly. The batter should still be slightly lumpy.<\/p>\n<p> Dust fish with seasoned flour. Dip each piece in batter then straight into hot oil. Fry for 4-5 mins or until crisp and golden.<\/p>\n<p> Mix together soy sauce and ginger for a dip.
