{"id":426,"date":"2012-09-17T19:41:49","date_gmt":"2012-09-17T19:41:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tezzatron.com\/loadsofrecipes\/2012\/09\/17\/onion-bhajis-2\/"},"modified":"2012-09-17T19:41:49","modified_gmt":"2012-09-17T19:41:49","slug":"onion-bhajis-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loadsofrecipes.co.uk\/asian-recipes\/onion-bhajis-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Onion bhajis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Serves<\/strong><br \/>\n2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking time<\/strong><br \/>\n20 mins<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 large onion, peeled, halved and thickly sliced<br \/>\nspices &#8211; cayenne, turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin, ground ginger<br \/>\nsalt<br \/>\n5 tbsp gram flour<br \/>\n1 heaped tsp tomato puree<br \/>\ngroundnut oil for deep-frying<br \/>\nlemon wedges and Indian pickles to serve<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Serves 2 as a starter or wee snack!<\/p>\n<p>Fry the onion gently in a couple of tbsp of the oil, stirring freqently until soft and translucent but not coloured &#8211; about 10 minutes. Add a pinch of cayenne, a pinch of salt, half tsp turmeric, half tsp ground coriander, quarter tsp ground\u00a0cumin and quarter tsp ground ginger. Mix well, turn out the heat and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Measure the gram flour into a large bowl and add half tsp salt, quarter tsp ground cumin and half tsp ground coriander. Mix well. Mix the tomato puree with a shot glass (or egg cupful) of water.
